About our name:
EquippedMama is a name derived from 2 Timothy 3:16-17. It says;
“Every scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the person dedicated to God may be capable and equipped for every good work.” (NET)
It is the prayer of this ministry that Mamas who access these resources and engage in our discussions find themselves equipped, not by us, but by the very Word of God. Our focus is to build you in your mothering journey, but not simply through affirmation or offering opportunities for self-help. We want to point you to the Source of wisdom and strength. We want to point you to the Lord.
About what we believe:
We are fully committed to being a Christ-centered resource for all mothers.
Christ Centered: As a Christ-centered organization, we place unqualified confidence in the authority of Scripture, and we firmly believe in the need of all people to reach reconciliation with God through his Son, Jesus Christ’s work on the cross (Romans 3:23, John 3:16). We believe that the only way that can happen is by each person understanding their need to be saved from their sins (Romans 5:8). In recognizing their need, they then can believe in the fact that Jesus Christ came to earth, lived a perfect life, died as a substitute for our sins, and was raised from the dead (Romans 10:9-10). With their confession of their need for a Savior and belief in Christ as the only substitute for their spiritual need, they are saved. From this context of salvation we orient our entire lives.
For all mothers: Being a resource for all mothers means that we desire to serve people from any walk of life. We are, however biased. As we have a Christian worldview, we do have absolute ideas and beliefs. Whoever you are, we welcome you and are glad you decided to learn more about us. We hope to serve you and extend to you the love of Christ.
About the Mama behind EquippedMama:
Katherine Hager is passionate about supporting and encouraging women, but especially moms. Her vision for EquippedMama was born out of her vision for her book, Redeemed Mama a new mother’s prayer journey through the Psalms. This book is scheduled to be released Christmas 2019. This book focuses on using the Scripture as the framework for prayer and has been the catalyst for EquippedMama- a broader network of Scripture based encouragement materials for all moms.
When she is not writing, Katherine enjoys spending time with her husband, Jon, and her daughter Zoe at their home in central Texas. Katherine loves open skies, fall colors, long runs, and connecting with women over things of the Lord.
