About EquippedMama

About our name: EquippedMama is a name derived from 2 Timothy 3:16-17. It says; “Every scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the person dedicated to God may be capable and equipped for every good work.” (New English Translation). It is the prayer of this ministry that Mamas who access these resources and engage in our discussions find themselves equipped, not by us, but by the very Word of God. Our focus is to build you in your mothering journey, but not simply through affirmation or offering opportunities for self-help. We want to point you to the Source of wisdom and strength. We want to point you to the Lord.

About what we believe: We are fully committed to being a Christ-centered resource for all mothers.

Christ-Centered: As a Christ-centered organization, we place unqualified confidence in the authority of Scripture, and we firmly believe in the need of all people to reach reconciliation with God through his Son, Jesus Christ’s work on the cross (Romans 3:23, John 3:16). We believe that the only way that can happen is by each person understanding their need to be saved from their sins (Romans 5:8). In recognizing their need, they then can believe in the fact that Jesus Christ came to earth, lived a perfect life, died as a substitute for our sins, and was raised from the dead (Romans 10:9-10). With their confession of their need for a Savior and belief in Christ as the only substitute for their spiritual need, they are saved. From this context of salvation we orient our entire lives.

For all mothers: Being a resource for all mothers means that we desire to serve people from any walk of life. As we have a Christian worldview, we do have absolute ideas and beliefs about how God has designed motherhood and what His ideal is for this season. Whoever you are, we welcome you and are glad you decided to learn more about us. We hope to serve you and extend to you the love of Christ.

Our Board of Directors:

Katherine Hager- Founder. Katherine Hager is passionate about supporting and encouraging women, but especially moms. Her vision for her writing ministry is to connect women to the Word of God as they walk through the seasons of mothering. When she is not writing, Katherine enjoys spending time with her husband, and her five children and helping run their ministry for elementary age children in central Texas.

Jonathan Hager– Vice President. Jon was born and raised in San Marcos, Texas. At the age of 14, he felt the calling to start a ranch ministry for children from the city that would allow them to learn faith in the setting of country-style fun. He went to Baylor University where he received a degree in violin performance, then completed a medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine and an ophthalmology residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. In 2016, he married the love of his life, Katherine, and they started Gospel Rocks Ranch in 2021. In his spare time, Jon enjoys spending time with his family, studying the Bible, running, playing the violin, clowning and spending time outdoors.

Eileen Lopez- Board Member. Having grown up in Houston from Argentinian parents, she now has 5 grown kids and one granddaughter.  She and her husband, Daniel, minister to the Hispanic community with various conferences and speaking opportunities.  In her free time, she enjoys gardening, crocheting, and playing Pickleball.

Jaci Newell- Board member. I live in the Dallas suburbs with my husband, Jordan, our three children, and Weller, our loyal hunting dog. As a stay-at-home mom, I spend my days nurturing our home—shepherding little hearts, baking sourdough, preparing meals to gather friends and family around our table, and creating a space that feels warm and welcoming. In the quieter moments, I love brewing a fresh espresso and diving into thoughtful theological conversations.
